Before any Venus emerged from your waters,
before the birth and death of a thousand divinities now forgotten;
you breathed, you sang, you danced.
Did your beauty mesmerize the passing moon;
and capture it forever in a tidal embrace?
Did you rejoice at the dawn of creation,
or did you merely smile at the pale vanities of human kind?
If the moon could not escape your force,
how could mere mortal ever tame you?
If a spoken word restrained your tides and uncovered lands,
will another, final word, return you to your former place,
where the sign of a rainbow comes to mark the end of an age?

…sigh… :)
incredible painting. Looks so much like a photo…amazing capture!
Ho DO you do that thing you do? It almost looks like a digital manipulation. Not to be taken negativly(that comment). Love the waves. And the technique that makes them sparkle.
This is so serene and tranquil. The more you study it the more you see. This goes immediately into my collection of favorites. Wonderful work.
This whole series is very peaceful. How zen of you! Thanks for sharing these with us, Carson.
You are great in your work!
another beautiful one in your series Carson, you consistently achieve peace and calm. I shall have to be careful not to try and visualise these when i meditate!!!!
one day i would love to see the real physical thing….this is really quite breathtaking…… i can smell and hear the ocean…..i guess i am just missing living on the coast…..i feel disconnected and to be honest your art reminds me of almost a primal remembering…… like we originated in the sea…… i love this.
