I am a visual artist using mostly acrylic paint on canvas. I’ve been working on something that I call The Ocean Series since 1978. The Ocean Series could be described as a Remodernist response to the late work of Mark Rothko.

Thanks for the kudos. It’s a painting with an interesting history: painted on the west coast of Costa Rica in 1994, it was first given to my late mother, who owned it until her death in 2008. Then it was sold, via the Internet, to a woman who lives in India, last year. I’m glad I don’t have it any more – it reminded me too much of bygone times.

Very impressive that each of these works could say something so different. I love the intensity of color….so perfectly reflected. A perfect settling of the day. It almost feels like a curtain closing. Lovely work Carson!!
