Don’t you recognize me?
I am the voice of red waves
shifted into the house of the past.
I speak to you even in this present darkness.
Listen as the echoes whisper of that former time.

My reflections mark the place of what once was
and what is yet to be.
Cast your hope upon these waters.

After many days it shall return,
a fresh incarnation of your dream
to carry you forward on the tides of my memory,
and away from this sandless hourglass.

About Carson Collins

I am a visual artist using mostly acrylic paint on canvas. I’ve been working on something that I call The Ocean Series since 1978. The Ocean Series could be described as a Remodernist response to the late work of Mark Rothko.

“…well there’s a red house over yonder…. Lord knows, that’s where my baby stays. I haven’t been home to see my baby…. in about ninety-nine and one half days.
Wait a minute, something’s wrong here – my key won’t unlock this door. I’ve got a bad, bad feelin’ – that my baby doesn’t live here any more…”
