Hal Smith

I am married to a wonderfully talented artist and mother of our four children who are on their own most, of the time. We are captured, manipulated and controlled by our three grandchildren and my best friend, our dog Samantha.

Painting and photography for me are wonderfully individual and very rewarding form of expression. I try to capture the magic of light, color, and a mood that I experience in a place or in a place found within my imagination at a particular time. I believe painting and photography is a way to communicate with others and it is important to me to capture and express not only a location at a specific time but a particular feeling or belief that I want to share. Hopefully every picture that I show has a quality or thought, or feeling that people respond to and are spiritually or emotionally enriched by.

I am learning new techniques daily. Even at this old age I am still growing daily in new understandings of the things that are truly important to me and want to communicate to you. I am always seeking comments, and suggestions from others so please email me.
