Ol Mose is another of those shots which took time to develop. For several weeks, on my way to Central Park in NYC I would pass him in his ‘Norske’ regalia that he used for pan-handling. He would be dressed with helmut, spear, and the works. Finally this one time I came by and he was taking a ‘break’ without his helmut, etc.. I took advantage of the morning light and open shade provided by the buildings and this is the shot I was finally satisfied with.
The camera was the Hasselblad 500C w/250mm Tele with a No.8 yellow filter attached. The camera settings were f5.6 @ 1/250th sec using Kodak’s Tri-x film and given normal development in Kodak’s D76 (1:1) @ 75 degrees.
