Dilapidated Barn and The Grand Tetons WY
It took some time to position the camera precisely where I wanted it to match the pre-visualization bouncing around in my head which also included camera height.
I was taken with the idea of the mountains eternal (we know better) and the overwhelming transience of man (and that’s something we are all very familiar with). I used the No.25 red filter to take advantage of the ‘bald’ sky to render a stark image.
The camera of choice was the medium format RZ67 II w/180mm Tele and the combination of a No.25 red filter and polarizer. The camera was set for f11 1/8 sec. using Ilford's Pan-f Plus film rated at ISO-50. The film was developed in Gordon Hutchings PMK developer 1:2:100 75 degrees. That was N-1 development as well as minus agitation to ‘modulate’ the values of the very stark scene.
