Firing the Six-Pounder at Night

This was the firing of an eighteenth century cannon by the American outfit called The Brigade of the American Revolution who spend much of the warm weather going from site to site demonstrating the life of the soldier of the eighteenth century and bringing to ‘life’ for the audience the history of the American Revolution, at least from the soldier’s perspective. Part history, part fun, all excitement.

The camera used for this effort was the Hasselblad 500C w/80mm normal lens with No.8 yellow filter attached. The settings were f16 @ ‘B’ (time). The film was Kodak’s Tri-x film developed in Ilford’s Microphen (1:1). The camera was placed in the ‘bulb’ position and used only the light from the firing of the cannon as the sole light source….........
