All of the above. I am also a not so little gray-haired lady and I do enjoy your creative self-portrait. As of today there is no such portrait of my self, but you have inspired me. Maybe… sometime I will try to be as brave.

  • halftone replied

Thanks izzybeth, it’s taken me two years to do this :)

  • clarkey

    clarkey

Lol, I don’t see a little lady, you look taller then me which means you aren’t short!! And grey hair doesn’t mean old, either, I started going grey at 30 – you’re only as old as you feel from moment to moment. Love this one, Mel, you look like a tigress ready to defend her world and all in it against the larger world and all threats coming from it. Your casual attired including your calf-length britches is suitable for just about anything you need to do. The only anomoly is the thongs – they tell me you’re secure in your world as they’re highly impractical for anything other than relaxation.

  • halftone replied

LOL thanks clarkey. I’m the shortarse in my family at 5’5”....thongs are for when I dress up…..lol! We’ve had temps in the thirties for the past two weeks….normally I’m barefoot. And yeah, I went grey early too…I’ve never wanted to waste time with chemicals :)

  • clarkey

    clarkey

You are defintely taller than me, I’m the shortarse in my family, too . . . by a long, loooong way, all the males on my mother’s side are over 6’. At family gatherings, I feel like I’m lost in smog! Lol, pullleeeease, send a little bit of that heat down here for a few weeks, until we catch up with you. I’m freezingmy bum off. Lmao, I never bothered with chemicals until I discovered a magnificent red dye and, now, I’m a wicked redhead! And I love it!

  • halftone replied

i’m married to a redhead, one is enough in this family ;)

  • Rosemary Scott

    Rosemary Scott

I’m back for another look! I really do love this portrait, there’s real strength in your stance & that shadow… it’s like some silent protector, standing sentinel…...

  • halftone replied

Thanks Rosemary…..matt reckons it’s a devil, rather than a protector….wonder which of you is right? :D

  • richiedean
