Neither Republicans nor Democrats are willing to do what is necessary to repair the US budget! Lets compare the budget to a small forest fire that needs only 1,000 gallons of water delivered within one hour in order to be put out. The tools available are a helicopter that can carry a very leaky bucket capable of putting the entire fire out only if it is completely filled. The only sources of water are a hose that can produce a flow of 10 gallons per minute or a nearby lake capable of filling the entire bucket within 5 minutes.
Republicans look at the bucket and say all we need to do is to take 5 minutes and apply duct tape to it and then fill it from the hose. Democrats look at the same seen and say we need to fill it from the lake, without patching the holes first. Neither side is willing to compromise to put out the fire. Using multiple trips with the leaky bucket may get enough water to the fire before it spreads, but may not! Just fixing the holes will not help if you are not willing to fill the bucket with the most efficient source, which ensures the fire will spread!.
Compromise must take place!
