Great photo, Helen! I have never been around horses much until very recently (now we live on a horse ranch!) Of course, I’m falling in love with every horse I see… I never knew they were this magnificent! Excellent action capture here!

  • Hi Nadya, thanks for your comments. I have loved horses since I was 1 year old. They still amaze me all the time… So glad you have the opportunity to enjoy them!

This is a great shot Helen, I have been looking through your art. Great photos and the coolie pups are gorgeous. My daughter and I have had an infinity with horses for many years. When we came up to Mt. Pleasant almost 23 years ago we started a Western Horse Trial activity and enjoyed taking people out on the stock routs. It is very rocky around where I live and folk from o’seas just loved the scenery and rocky outcrops. You will do well with your photos. Rita.

  • You lucky thing Rita! I will have to come visit sometime!
Would love to go on a trail ride…
Thank you for the encouragement with my photos!

Would love to have been riding with you Helen, we retired from the trail ride some time ago due to extortionate rise in insurance costs. Pity. My last ride was two years ago at Tin Can Bay went on a trail ride for two hours it was great!

  • Yes insurance hurt alot of horse business and the pony clubs etc.
So you don’t have any horses now?

Sadly No! My dear loyal appaloosa died just 6 years ago. I was with him and it was very painful he had been a top horse, he was 27, I bought him as a 10 year old and we had great trail rides and camping weekends away with the club I was in. We kept our daughters two horses here until she & hubby had a house built on 5 1/2 acres of land at ‘Truro’, about 20 ks from here. They had lived just down the road so I missed her,the 3 grand daughters and the horses. It took me a long time to stop checking the paddocks every morning to see what the horses where up to. I still feel his presence under the trees. I have managed to get a ride a few times since but nothing like having your own. Rita.

  • I’m sorry about your boy, Rita. had to put down my 24 year old Quarter horse Danny in Feb this year. i still miss him whinnying at me every time I walked out the front door. Miss his smell and his cuddles. I would love to get another ,but with this drought it’s not a good time. We will just have to take more photos to compensate!
    Helen.
