Turquoise and Golden

Turquoise and Golden

I like you
I’d be lying if I didn’t admit
That history speaks for itself
That we connect and hum
Play at secret and loud
Like romances and sunlit thoughts
And chasing the moon till dawn

I’d be lying to say that I don’t dream
Occasionally wonder at what ifs
Kiss you at small
And lick slowly down
Breathe your name
Fingers entwined

I love you
The golden in you
And the darkest dream
And the myriad grey
That dissolves and plays prism

That I am not
Just a recital
Playing at words spoken
Like rose over coming green
Grasping a forgotten
That filled our days

You are
Not a pretty face to haunt
But a dawn
That leads silent
Glows tormented
And loves
With heart
At once turquoise
And golden

I like you
And love
Apart from my heat
And dreaming past sting
I love you
