This model ship, in the style of a Hansakogg ship from the 16th century, is found in the old church, Porvoo Cathedral, in Provo, Finland. This model hangs from the ceiling and reminds people of the connection that this country has to the sea. The models were used in ceremonies to bless ships and those who sailed. They also serve as reminders to those that perished or those that were saved. The church was built in the 15th century, although the oldest parts date from the 13th century.
