Photograph was taken of the vintage train in Byrup a small town close to the center of Jutland, Denmark. The steam train is made up of vintage rail cars pulled by the locomotive.
Bryrup was once a village station on the old Horsens-Bryrup-Silkeborg railroad. The rail line way was once described “as the most beautiful train ride in all Denmark.” Today all the remains of the line is a short but beautiful stretch of roadway from Bryrup to Silkeborg. The train is powered by an original, restored steam locomotive and features the original cars. We traveled down a narrow glacial valley filled with dense forest to a station outside of Silkeborg. There we got off the train for about 20 minutes while the locomotive was moved for our return trip back to Bryrup.
