It could not have been easy, living in Tombstone in 1881. Like Tombstone itself, the term Helldorado refused to die. It became the name of a celebration in 1929, and Arizonans have been celebrating the event just about every year since. The festival will have re-enactments, shootouts, a parade, an 1880 fashion show, Indian dancers, a carnival, music and contests. It also is about the time of year that the historic fight at the O.K. Corral took place. The gun battle made Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday household names. At the time, Tombstone had become so lawless that President Chester A. Arthur considered declaring martial law, according to the city’s website. Things settled down after that, and Tombstone became the county seat. In 1929, the year of the stock-market crash and the first Helldorado celebration, the county seat was moved to Bisbee.

How well you have captured the lines Life has drawn on her visage ! Superb Lucinda!!!

  • Shubha thank you very much for your wonderful comments. I did nothing to erase any lines or try to soften them. I love the character they bring to her face. Thanks also for the favorite. Much appreciated. Lucinda
