On La Canada Road in Sahuarita, Arizona many benches and receptacle containers were added decorating the side of the road. The artwork was done through a summer program at Sahuarita High School. The artwork on the benches and receptacles reflects the town’s southwest heritage with pictures depicting Hohokam pottery, wildlife and plants and scenes of the Sonoran desert and Santa Rita Mountains.

I’ve seen a lot of the benches on the way to the dog park, but never this one. It’s great.

  • Linda I stopped to photograph all of them. This was my favorite. Thanks.

Thats what I like about New Mexico and Arizona..or just the southwest in general most places..the warm and colorful accents in towns, even the expressways in New Mexico with the small symbols on the over passes..very cool stuff…

  • Thanks so very much for looking through my gallery & finding this work. I really like this capture but never got many comments on this one. I agree that this is what makes AZ & NM unique. So many different symbols that are only found in this area. Thanks so very much for your comments! So very much appreciated. :-)))
