This photograph was taken in an open air market in Santarem, Brazil. Santarem is a town along the Amazon River. We were walking through this market with our cab driver and he couldn’t speak English and we couldn’t speak Portuguese. But we had a marvelous time with hand signals. We guessed that these were bottles of honey since it seemed very thick. I Googled the phrase Mel da abelha and I think it translates to Honey Bee in English.
