Modern Aphrodite
Kinda based on this idea of a moder day Aphrodite. Some of you might know of her as Venus, from the famous Botecelli clamshell painting. Also known as the goddess of love.
I wanted to capture this suggestion of intimacy without situationally typical elements. The colouring is slightly cold, the hand connection awkward. The limbs fade left and right and if anything, it’s all rather stoic for something representing passion. This isn’t the antithesis of love, nor is it the ugly side, it just is. I don’t like to think of this is erotica.
