The little fella at the top is dead shy, the guy below him is angry about it because he’s not being brave like everyone else, and the one below the angry guy is worried about the unfolding scenario. The rest of them are pretending not to notice and/or are feeling a little embarrased about the whole thing. It happens sometimes in Japan.

I like to photograph anything and everything, if it catches my eye and resonates with me. Have had an interest in art and photography for many years, but it has been mostly dormant. When it awakens, I enjoy it very much. Never studied art as life went in a different direction, as happens. Hope you enjoy some of my efforts. Thanks for dropping by and taking a look.

The snapshot woulda been to have them all in a contrite pattern.
For photography to WORK it must have emotion and either sadness or
an aesthetic beauty or a humour. A combination of Japanese souvenir and humour and monochrome – is the right combination for an interesting shot.

  • Hi there, thanks for your thoughts. I like the shot as it is. It works for me. I think the embarrassed little fella says it all. And the expressions of anger and slightly worried look on the face of the little guy below tells a story. The way the others are just milling around says a lot. I didn’t arrange this. They were just in the box that way. I thought standing in somebodies shop playing with their saleable items might have caused offence. I think I was lucky to be allowed to photograph these blitters at all. I’m also not a believer that things have to be a certain way to make interest … Sometimes they just are how they are. :o) I don’t like rules. :o)

I have a few shots to upload – hopefully today – with a kid caught in mid cartwheel and another candid of a festival parade in Tokyo. Happy Days in Tokyo – they keep a comin’. Keep taking the shots – as I LOVE this one.

  • Thank you. I truly appreciate your in depth comments and thoughts. :o) Sometimes we just have to go with what’s available. I’m a great lover of candids so will check them out. I love capturing natural moments that tell a little story or keep us guessing. I don’t get enough of them, sadly. Probably should take the camera out a little more often lol :oD
