Gunes Yilmaz

I’m originally from Adana, Turkey and studied PR and Design at university. I’ve loved painting and art all my life and wanted to paint. Primarily I have learned through self-study, but I had the opportunity to take lessons for a few months in Turkey. I work mostly in oils, acrylics and mixed media, but I have also been experimenting with charcoal and pencils.

My culture has been a driving force in my work. I love my country, which inspires me.

I live in DC and I feel I can learn much from the art scene here in town.
