When the last of them has gone and just the ruins remain
Will we tear them down my friends in Mother Natures name
Their wars, their tests…experiments
They killed and maimed my brothers, their anger we did not provoke
Destruction was a joke
They raped her land with disregard, once Oceans green and blue
Behold it now with both your eye’s for it’s no longer true
Now they boast with poison plume
For their deeds have sealed her doom
Acid rain the tears she cries
It wont be long before she dies
For those the ones that really cared, our love will never end
This kind the last of them he is, a man I called my friend
Our eye’s they met, no words were said and finally he died
I thought how senseless all of this, with head bowed down
I cried
So yes my friends we’ll tear them down, until the last tin can
Erase the memory my friends, of this species

A well worded eulogy for our Mother, Earth. Awesome!

Hey man, now this is poetry. This is what I’ve been searching for as I”ve been coming across alot of mediocre pieces. You’ve got it! That Thing. That old school poetry that rhymes, but is still extremely artistic. For this one day you’re my hero!

What a great entry for the Gaia contest! I’ve heard the expression of humans crying tears of blood, but to say that the Earth cries acid rain is so cool and so fitting.

Ty all so much, for your comments are what I can only call the best reward returned from writing.
