mono camelia

mono camelia

i love the tones and shadows in this shot. i chose to make it a mono, which is the only processing i did, beacuse i want it to be seen for its tonality and play with light/shadow, not as just a flower. i love making b/w shots of flowers; they are more than their riotous colors…they are lines, curves, textures, highlights…..they are art

I love that you have chosen to present this in such subdued tones…to me it makes this image all the more interesting. The light and shadows are captured wonderfully. Otherwise, it may have been “just another flower photo” Well done!

You are absolutely right about capturing the delicate beauty and structure of a flower when shooting in mono. The vieweres interest is drawn in and you are intigued by the detail that colour usually takes away from us! Well done!

Amazing! I LOVE that you made this a monochrome shot. They REALLY capture your eye, because they are so dynamic. I love your angle and use of shadows. Great job! (I love my Canon EOS too! x)
