Tripod

    Stevie – the star effect comes from the light refracting off the lenses aperture blades, it seems your lens has six blades! Nothing wrong with your gear or technique. It’s all good. :)

    I’ve spent a countless number of sunrises down Point Lonsdale and I thought this one was going to be a washout. But the minute the rain stopped, I was greeted with the best sunrise Ive seen down there.. It’s such a magical location…

    great! may i ask how you do the hdr? I’d LOVE to get photos like this, but always end up overediting them and not getting great results!

    This shot isn’t a HDR, but I use a program called Photomatix when I’m processing HDRs. Most of mine end up looking rubbish, but I’m sure that’s just me, not my editing software..

    I just use a cheapo ND2 grey grad, it doesn’t seem to make much difference, but it helps :o)
