I recently went over the audiobook of The Silmarillion, wow that was heavy going! It did give me lots of ideas for things to draw though, this being one of them. I’d rather cover things not seen in Jackson’s films, as they’re pretty much definitive IMO.

I was pleased with the sense of the event taking place here, but though it lacked scale somewhat. Maybe I should have included some little Numenorians drowning? Numenor’s downfall was definately one of the better parts of the book.
