This is a reproduction of the Oval Office as it was during the Truman administration; and the office which Truman used in his retirement years. This replica is at the excellent Truman Library Museum in Independence, Missouri.
Independence, Missouri, was President Truman’s hometown. The exhibits in the Library’s museum emphasize the career of Harry S. Truman, and the history of the Truman administration. Truman served as President from April 1945 to January 1953. After retirement, he lived in Independence until his death in 1972.
