Taken on a wee Lochan in the far northwest of Scotland.

I love taking photos of the water. I have always had a fear of water (have had a reducing Aquaphobia over the years since childhood) but it also has a powerful influence in my life.

The water-plants (really don’t know what they are) grow through the flat, calm waters almost reaching out for some unknown goal. The scene almost looks like a pin cushion.

For me, it is the interaction beween the plant and the water. The way that the surface tension draws the water up onto the plant – it is almost sticky-like. Actually, there is a lot going on in the image for a minimal layout.

I wouldn’t exactly call myself a Photographer, I just happen to love my surroundings and share what I see. Had that unexpected side-effect of becoming passionate about B&W imagery – so much so, that I call my colour images “failed B&W’s”. Enjoy!
