Forth Rail Bridge - Vanishing Points by

Being on the coast and the weather as it is here on the east of Scotland, the sea mist is an frequent visitor to the land here. It transforms the views so dramatically and I could spend forever taking such haunting images of soft silhouettes and figures in and out of the mist.

Here, on the shore of South Queensferry, the slipway goes into the Firth Of Forth. It looks like a real road with its white lines which baffles me a wee bit. The Rail Bridge is just amazing here and disappears into the grey, heavy sky.

All the perspectives are shortened and the disappear into the void. Some far off vanishing point.

I wouldn’t exactly call myself a Photographer, I just happen to love my surroundings and share what I see. Had that unexpected side-effect of becoming passionate about B&W imagery – so much so, that I call my colour images “failed B&W’s”. Enjoy!

Another wonderful shot, love how the bridge fades out in the mist/fog and the road is a great lead in too.

  • Thanks Gary,

I was amazed how many vanishing points were radiating away from me as I stood there. Glad you like this one too.

Amazing… looks like the road is flooded lol oh I so love your images Kevin :D

  • Hey Eva,

Wasn’t sure how folk would take to this one. I really don’t know why there’s a white line here but it does look like the road gets flooded – it basically runs into the Firth Of Forth! Really nice that you think that my stuff is that good :)

Strange sort of cold and misty here in Scotland near the Firth of Forth. Made for some good shooting :-)
