It was a 2 night shoot in Paris at gigs so hot that I thought my camera may fail through being soaking with sweat and super high humidity. Between the heat, sweat, the crushing and no air I’m lucky I did not fail! I’ve shot many many gigs, but this was by far the most dangerous and challenging!
I broke a few ‘gig photography’ codes to get this shot, but the gig was so crazy I thought rule breaking was appropriative, and I’d had a few French beers. She knew I was rule breaking, but she is very used to working in front of a camera, and she performed brilliantly, for her audience and me.
I was lucky enough to have a message relayed to me from Juliette Lewis through her people in LA that said,
“No person has ever captured my energy and movement on stage the way he has.”
