Timeless contemplation by Greybeard

Hidden amongst the bamboo and other plants is this reproduction of a Moai, resting, in timeless contemplation. I find this a haven to which I can go for peace, where my eyes can also me sightless to this gaudy world, for a while; my ears deaf to the calls of commercialism, corruption and hate and anger: where I can attempt to still that inner voice and like the Moai – just be; asking nothing and taking nothing, other the the breath of life and seeking inner peace.

I purposely made sure that the close up leaves wee out of focus, to draw the eye to the main subjest.

I am not an artist but but have dabbled with wood, clay, and paint over the years andand of course photography. My aim with the camea is to only use photo editing programmes to ‘tweak’ the photo, is a fraction too dark or light, to to crop and occasionally slight sharpen to highlight a particular feature.
RedBubble is inspiring, and when I see the quality of all the art produced by its members I realise how much I have to learn.

  • Thank you Gina, I rarely find that nature helps my camera as it did with this shot. Thank you for your kind comment
