Being close to Remembrance Day, I felt that it was appropriate to add this poppy image at this time, even though I took the photo in early summer. I have called it ‘memories’ as it is not the traditional poppy as used by the Royal British Legion for remembrance of those who have died in war.

Canon350D

I am not an artist but but have dabbled with wood, clay, and paint over the years andand of course photography. My aim with the camea is to only use photo editing programmes to ‘tweak’ the photo, is a fraction too dark or light, to to crop and occasionally slight sharpen to highlight a particular feature.
RedBubble is inspiring, and when I see the quality of all the art produced by its members I realise how much I have to learn.

This is beautiful and a wonderful tribute !

  • Thank you Mathilde, for your lovely words, I didn’t think of it as being a tribute when I up loaded the picture, but then realised the timing and connection. I hope it can be a tribute to all who have died in war. War is still rife in this troubled planet and usually caused by man’s greed for wealth and power. Will we ever learn to live in harmony? – Greybeard

I so love poppies. They remind me of my mother’s garden and her sharing of the plants. There were poppies all over the neighborhood. And on the sideboard in my grandmother’s cut crystal wedding vase, there were poppies and peonies. This is beautiful.

  • I am glad that you like it May and that it brings back happy memories of time gone by. They always remind me of the fields of their wild cousins, which seemed common place when I was young,
