The Spalding Silver King golf ball, a 1.62" diameter “small ball” used back in the day. Golf balls are now 1.68" as an industry standard. The ball is addressed by a persimmon headed driver made from a solid block of wood, priorto fitting a face insert, weight and sole plate. These type of clubs were used up into the 1990’s when really, except for a handful, they disappeared due to the onslaught of the metal wood.
