Countryside Walk

Dip your toes here love, this is where i swam,
come brush the grass here love, this is how i ran,
Come lye with me here love, on top of this hill,
where the buzzards fly graceful and sheep graze the fields.
Come dance with me love, this is where i learn’t,
that a first dance will leave a young womans heart burnt.
Put your hand here love, to pull yourself up,
Come feel how i felt when i first reached the top.
Come swing on this branch love, come see how i flourished.
Come witness this sunset and view that i cherished.
Come taste this bread love, it’s made from that wheat,
and sup on this malt love, a local brewed treat.
Now watch out for cars love, this road is brand new,
it’s a fast one, unwatched, it’s already claimed two.
And, oop, mind your step love, their testing the land,
installing a windfarm and local broadband.
Come meet Farmer John love, oh wait, i remember,
He declared himself bankrupt and left last december.
Come now love, lets leave love, and back to our town,
It’s a disheartend smile love, i won’t wear a frown,
Come relax with me here love, the day has been long,
but worth the time and breath love, for soon it’ll be gone.
