1989. A brief roadside stop during 2 days of crazy travel in southern China between Guangzhou and Wuzhou… in a ‘little bread bus’ (combi van) full of farmers, chickens, and buckets of fish. The roof of the van was stacked high with woven cages containing dogs and pigs. Imagine the condition of that vehicle after 48 hours.
Here was the littlest of many children who were running around, seemingly at play. He later served me a bowl of veggies and rice, proudly exclaiming that he grew it all.

lovey colour here Greg – so this would be film?

  • Yes. Old school basic Kodak color 120 and a small Canon handheld that ran on 2 AA batteries. Nothing fancy about that.

    So energetic !

  • Typical of children on every continent. The trick is to capture the image while they are being themselves.
