This is a shot through the cab of a DMU at Cauldon Lowe in Staffordshire. The Churnet Valley Railway have recently re-opened this old freight line that runs from near Leek to the quarry at Cauldon Lowe.

    Great capture, this is their class 104 I believe.

  • Thanks David, I believe it is the class 104. I didn’t really take much notice as I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. I did the full length from Froghall to Cauldon Lowe. I believe the total rail journey is about 28 miles return, which is quite a long way to travel when they road journey is only 3 miles!
