Artist's Description

The Manifold Valley footpath and cycle way (now called the Manifold Way) was opened in July 1937 after the LMS handed over the trackbed to Staffordshire County Council.

Some spectacular scenery can be found along the eight-mile route, including Thor’s Cave, Wetton Hill and Beeston Tor.

Beeston Tor is a limestone cliff in Staffordshire. It overlooks the confluence of the River Hamps with the River Manifold,
