Thorpe Cloud is a small limestone hill lying between the villages of Thorpe and Ilam at the southern end of Dovedale. The summit of Thorpe Cloud is 942 feet above sea level and appears to be flat when viewed from the side.

Thorpe Cloud and Dovedale were used as locations in the Russell Crowe blockbuster Robin Hood. Thorpe Cloud can be clearly made out in several scenes towards the end of the film.
