it is many years ago
i see an arch of white stone
surrounded by inkblue darkness
and i am not alone
someone utters a guttural groan
i am not sure if it is me
i am on the ground
a presence is pressing me down
my head is arching backwards
that is how i come to see the stone
the only way this seed could have been planted
is if you put it in me hundreds of years ago
instinctively i have always known
the one part of me that remains unbroken
that cave of inkblue darkness
where your seed has been perfectly sown
dreams….? premonitions…?
remembrances…? it’s hard to know…..
…and even after all this time
it can still make me feel
white bread and average
the cloyingly mushy middle
of a brilliant girl sandwich

I can read this many ways, Lisa. I choose to read this as such a positive dream….
Love to you

this one is full of metaphors for me…the idea that seeds sown many years ago have made me who i am today….the beauty of the white stone, the uncertainty of the blackness all around it…the idea that everything in my life is exactly how it is supposed to be, even if i don’t like some of it, even as i push against the pressure…ideas that hold such a vast amount of optimism that it is almost overwhelming at times….thanks for seeing this in the positive light, it really is meant to be seen that way XOXOXO

As you say, there are a ton of metaphors here… in a six pound poem, but it speaks loudly in its brevity. Where ever you pulled this from is where you need to continue tapping it… great job on this one greeneyedlady.
thanks Russell, for both the feature and the praise…..feels like i have somehow turned a corner and come upon all this new stuff sitting there, just waiting to be tapped……i do appreciate all your support!

I really like this. Always grateful for where I have been no matter what. As your dream suggest and you we are who we are now and thats pretty good.
