Adhan (Athaan) is the Islamic call to prayer, recited by the muezzin. The root of the word is ʼḏn “to permit”, and another derivative of this word is uḏun, meaning “ear.”
This is the minaret of Kairouyine mosque in Fes. The university which is attached, was founded in 859AD and ‘is considered the oldest continuously operating institution of higher learning in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.’ (Care of Wikipedia)

Marocco, now this is a place i want to vist, my Dad was born there in the early 30th when the country was still under the French “protectora” , heard so many beautiful things, love this image, a beautiful composition, very nice silouette, tres bien fait

It’s definitely worth a visit at least once in a lifetime, particularly if you have a family connection to it. It just has so much beauty and so much variety in the landscape as well as the towns/cities. Just watch out for the incredible heat!

Great composition and silhouette.. Consider a slight levels adjustment on a selected area only, where the dark blue sky meets the building outlines, so that a better separation between the sky and building are shown, without sacrificing the composition. Thanks for sharing with the Art of the Middle East group
