Love this! Perfect tones and focus. cant believe you do all this with the 50mm, amazing!
Oh, and congrats on being in the featured section with this piece!
Damienne Bingham replied
Thanks sweety, that’s really kind of you! And yes I push that lens so far beyond it’s capacity haha I’m just biding my time until I buy myself a 100mm….trying to decide if I should buy it in Aus, or wait till I get to South Africa where it might be cheaper!
Sortvind
I actually have the 50mm lens myself, but i only used it once. The sharpness and focus was not there, i think there might be something wrong with it. do you need a lot of sharpening in the post processing with that lens?
Damienne Bingham replied
It depends on the shot I guess, the clarity is actually pretty good, but of course the better I get, the more I want to do really Ultra macro work and there is only so close I can get without losing clarity. I very rarely do much sharpening on my work – mostly sharpening when I’m increasing the file to create a large print. But the focus is usually pretty clear in the initial “native size”. Maybe you got a faulty lens? :(
I’m still looking forward to an upgrade. Do you use the 100mm canon?
Nanmarie
