Jump left to right and still I’m scared
My shadow trails behind.
My head is numb my palms are wet,
I try to speak my mind.
Things that to you are natural
I give a minute’s thought.
You glide your way throughout the day,
It ends; I’m overwrought.
Less simple than a common fear
I feel like I’m surrounded
By noises, faces, sentences,
Yet none to keep me grounded.
Misused mistaken misunderstood,
Look back you’ll see no mark.
My mistless breath and printless feet
led me into the dark.
A glimpse into the mind of the socially anxious…
