ma luna

listening to the cool white moon
as it pierces the dusk light
of the gray still woods
now stirring, investigating

prove to no one your existence

what promise the night holds
release the energy of countless scores
who have gazed upon your timeless
mock face of understanding

in quest of answers to aged dilemma

your pensive face watches me now
seeming to relay some message
behind your optimistic eyes, i sense foreboding
moonbeams, corrupted sunbeams

what effect have you on my life?

true loneliness, sullen isolation
in defiance, control the seas!
our outstretched arms yearn to possess
to hold your pale beauty close

the pleasure effortlessly, endlessly denied.
