Making Haloes by

Light and heat are the very essence of our existence and irreplaceable components in the circle of life. We as a planet are incredibly blessed to reside close to a relatively endless source of heat and light – the Sun. Were it to cease bombarding us with its photon goodness, we too would cease to be very soon after. Thank God for the Sun.

This is a 10-second exposure of a tealight candle spinning in a vase half-full of water. I used a manual exposure and only the light of the candle. There was no post-processing except for colour and contrast adjustments.

I like this, and I like your background thought for doing this! Light is after all the essence of our existence.

  • Thanks, Tim.
I was thinking on some level about capturing light in bottles in case our other sources of light disappeared, and how futile that would be, but I couldn’t come up with a good way to describe it.
Looks like I got the main sentiment across, though.
