Summer Love by

I have always associated cocktail umbrellas with tropical holidays, and so the journey for this image began with a question:
If you were a cocktail umbrella, where would you go for a holiday?

The answer soon became obvious:
Cocktail umbrellas are inanimate and don’t go on holidays.

But I think they would still dream about going on holiday, so here is a cocktail umbrella daydreaming about having a summer romance by the shores of the beach.

Great work Graham. I think you have done very well. I particularly like the shadow of the figures in embrace!

  • Thanks, Tim.
As you might be able to tell from the description, this is the object that I struggled with the most in terms of coming up with a meaningful theme, so in the end I just decided to have some fun with it.

This creativity at its best. I requested for the items, but as I had visitors from overseas I never found enough time to think, plan and execute something on the themes. It’s a great initiative by Canon though. This image is excellent and I really enjoy it for its creative merits. Brilliant!

  • Thanks so much, Thomas. It’s very nice to receive such appraisals.
