Acrylic on Canvas painting of a cruise ship at the mouth of the Amazon River. One of my friends took a cruise down the Amazon. This painting was done from her 4×6 photo taken from shore at the end of the cruise. The ship looks tiny in the back ground beneath a silver and gray blue sky. Stark dark branches reach up out of the water in the foreground with grasses and other plants silhouetted against the water and sky. The river is tan and silver in the somber light. Tree branches reach out from the bank.

I am a retired Elementary school teacher(retired in 2003), artist (Painting-Acrylic & Mixed Media), poet, and photographer. I like the challenge of composing and capturing straight out of the camera. Last summer I started Gray’s Photo Tours. The concept is to provide guided photographic tours or Photo classes for visitors of this scenic area and portraits on locations of their choice. My moto is “I specialize in NOT specializing.”
