Introducing Scoop Neck Tees and Unisex Tanks — FIND OUT MORE

Manatees crowd into Three Sisters Spring in Crystal River, Florida to get relief from the cold winter waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The spring remains at 72 deg. all year round, and is a haven for these large water mammals. Canon Powershot sx30IS

A Florida native, I enjoy taking photos of the natural beauty around me. Photography is a wonderful way to preserve the memories of that beauty. My family is also my passion, and I enjoy recording the things we do together. Strictly a hobbyist, I have won a few contests, and have been published within the state several times. Sharing these photos with friends who share theirs with me is a most gratifying and lovely experience.

Wow! Quite a few of them there! I haven’t posted any manatees yet. One of these days soon! Isn’t that water beautiful!

  • Thanks so much, Dot! This is one of the few truly unspoiled places around here. The manatees seem so happy there.

Awww…I would love to pet and hug them!!! They are so awesome!!! great shot :o)

  • Thank you, Eastsider! The do love to be petted gently. Unfortunately, their lack of fear and their curiosity about people sometimes gets them into fearful situations.

LOVE manatees…thanks for the notes on this! Very wonderful place and capture!

  • Thanks, Gena! There is a big manatee awareness movement in our area, because they are numerous at this time of year.
