Hi Potty… how very English, but I take it you like it!Your latest acrylic work is outstanding, to think that ‘Sardoo’ is just a practice run, I would love to see what follows, fantastic work!
– Graham Clark
‘Crikey’ does sound a bit ‘Carry On’ doesn’t it!! Yeah I love it. -Thankyou so much for saying you think my paintings are outstanding. The same can be said of yours Graham.-Do you teach?
Hi Potty, ha, ‘Carry on’ indeed! No I don’t teach as yet but have been asked many times if I will do demonstrations…the thing is, I paint instinctively with no particular procedure, its something I might explore in the future but would need to spend a lot time preparing a lesson.
Yeah I guess you would have to design some sort of curriculum. Even if you were to start with Still Life instead of your usual master works, people (like me) would still get a great insight into how to use oils, and brushwork. I tend to draw with colour, rather than actually ‘paint’ if that makes sense. I personally would love to start uses oils, as I’m told they’re more natural than acrylics, but can’t afford to set myself up with all the equipment at the moment. If you ever hold a workshop in the future, let me know. I would definately make the journey to spend a weekend learning from a British Master such as yourself.-By the way, how good is Scott Naismith?! Just found him through your faves. He’s awesome. Such a bold use of colour, and uses really open, confident brushstrokes.
Hi Potty, well this all very encouraging, I might start doing classes one day and if I do I shall let you know. And yes Scotts work is very powerful, full of drama and as you say confident. I visited the western isles of Scotland earlier this year but I didnt get the weather I was hoping for, however some of the places I captured on camera are on my huge list of things to paint in the future, its an awesome place. Tell me Potty do you know of anyone ever selling any work through Redbubble?
you know you are crazy good right?
I might be crazy… but crazy good? Its the first time I’ve been called that Wendy… LOL!!! YOU are a tonic! G X
