Man oh man…this is an example of classic beautiful watercolor. Great use of the medium in the spottiness of the rocks!

The original sold just 20 minutes after I finished it when I had an event where my studio was open to the public, I was amazed, I must do more like this, it was a joy to do! Thanks again for your comment.

    awesome! awesome! awesome!!!!!!!! stunning!! immpecable!!
how do u do those textures?

  • Graham Clark replied

WOW, thanks Sneha, I’m overwhelmed by your comments, thanks.
The textures are created by some careful and erratic use of masking fluid, some I place carefully with a brush, other marks are splashed on and at various stages removed. add more washes and do it all again, plus I splash pigment on using a very stiff brush, you must have a go and get back to me with the results. This is gorgeous. Very traditional but striking.

I’m glad it made the cover of the Painters in Modern Times watercolor challenge because otherwise I might not have seen it.

  • Graham Clark replied

Hi Jenny, I’m glad they used it as an avatar for the challenge too, great to get your comments, thanks. G

This landscape is so powerful, the human element is put into a humbling perspective with Nature. A thoughtful experience from your excellent painting.
