Don’t we all know that feeling of waiting for doctord or at the dentist etc. I now go to a doctors where you don’t book an appointment you just turn up and wait and it’s so much quicker.
Thanks for your comment PrincessBren! The Waiting-Room is a metaphor for life – it’s semi autobiographical. The study for this one is being painted at the moment and I’ve actually changed it a bit – I think it works better in its new form but, you’ll see soon enough!
Thanks Kalb! The oil study is coming along well but, I’m a sloooow painter …. and I have 3 on the go at the moment! It will be interesting to see what you all think about the study once it’s posted. Even now, while I’m painting it, I can see that there will be even more changes when I eventually paint the final, full sized work.
Cool image, love the shoes optional pet friendly waiting room! Is it at the veteranarian?
Sorry to disappoint, but it’s all a metaphor – I tried to hint by adding an ashtray, something that you wouldn’t find in a doctor’s or vet’s waiting room, so it’s not taken too literally. But, if it works for you on any level, I’m very thankful! Bare feet, in some cultures, is a symbol of death …. cheery little piece! ;-)
Yep, I’d say the vet needs to put him on a good diet. :))…Roll on the painting…!
Thanks for your comments Meg – much appreciated. Surprisingly, she wasn’t actually a fat little dog – her long fur, and the funny angle I photographed her at, bulks her up a bit. Sadly, she died a couple of months ago. :-( The painting is almost finished. It’s not a carbon-copy of the digital study – it’s a bit grittier and moodier. Hopefully, I’ll have it up on RB by the end of the week!
Before I even read what the image was about, I was going to ask you if this is a metaphorical purgatory. How funny. I really like this image, WELL DONE!
Absolutely! Many thanks for your comments – they are greatly appreciated! :-)

Howver the final version comes out as, I still really like this.
