This work explores the artist’s relationship with the art industry and the role of autobiography in art.
The scene is a gallery. In the centre the artist sits, head in hands, in front of a large and elaborate work. A small dog, a metaphor for his audience, sits beside him, enthralled. On the right, a suited man carrying a briefcase, representing the corporate patron, exits the scene.
This was intended as a digital study for a painting – it may still happen! A detail of the work can be viewed here.

Thanks Robert! This one used to have a lot of comments but I re-uploaed it and lost them all! Never mind, glad you like it.
Love this image. Reminds me of one which inspired me many years ago when I was doing film, as opposed to digital photography. – Off to look at the rest of your work now……
Thanks GraemesDesigns for taking the time to look at my work! This is part of an on-going series. There are others but, I’d like to finish a few paintings before uploading more.

Arresting work..!!….Just wonderful.!…A special mention to the little dog, who completes the image so perfectly (can’t keep my eyes off him :))
Thanks so much Meg – your comments are much appreciated. It’s amazing how such a physically small element of the work commands so much presence! Thanks again.
