Digital composite, 2007.
Detail from a larger work and part of the Running Man series.

A faun stands on the edge of a lake and waterfall, gazing coyly at the viewer as if interrupted at an inappropriate moment, caught spying on the unaware bather.

This is another of my works where the principal character engages directly with the viewer. It is a detail from a larger work, intended as a digital sketch for a painting, it seemed a shame to not show this element in more detail.

    Thank you Marie!
Debussy is one of my favourite composers – I listened to Prélude á l’ápres-midi d’un faune while making this. It’s a piece I will never tire of.

We like this one. We being my daughter and myself. We’ve come to the conclusion that it reminds us of a cross between a Midsummers Night Dream and The house of the Fawn (in Pompeii). I haven’t been to the latter so I will have to take her word for it. Oh and thanks for alerting me to “Mona Lisa descending the Staircase”! It was brilliant.

Wonderful. I can hear Faure as I watch this scene unfolding. Love the interactive element. Outstanding.

  • Thanks Roy! This one took a lot of work, but I’m glad people enjoy it.
