The complete series can be found here.

This is the inspiration for, and now a detail from, a larger work entitled, The Assumption II and a more comprehensive description can be found there. It also relates to Our Lady of the Soiled Flokati which explores similar themes.

For what ever reason, this has not enjoyed the popularity of some of my other works, yet it still remains one of my favourites.

I don’t understand either Graeme!!! This is absolutely beautiful!!!!

  • Many thanks Greta – the first comment has been a long time coming! ;-) I’ve had this one made into a large fine art print (about 4 foot wide!) and it looks absolutely superb – delicate, fragile and soft, and the detail can be better appreciated. It has always reminded me of the work of French painters from the 18th century, but without all the putti and floral garlands!

Wonderful and I like this one as much as the others – it is just less surreal (if it can be) thank some of your other presentations, but I picture it as a great card in the case of someone who has lost a little friend. Just charming!

  • Thank you! For me, there is something very calming and ethereal about this one – how can they look so impossibly cute! ;-)
